Collection Policy

By the 12th of the month, a late fee of 1.5% of the balance due or $1, whichever is greater, will be added to the bill and a late notice will be included on the next month’s bill if unpaid.

By the 13th of the following month, a notice of disconnection is sent out.

If payment for your bill is not received by the:

24th of the current month

By the 24th of the month, a late fee of 1.5% of the balance due or $1, whichever is greater, will be added to the bill and a late notice will be included on the next month’s bill if unpaid.

25th of the next month

By the 25th of the following month, a notice of disconnection is sent out.

30th of the next month

By the 30th of the following month, disconnection procedures are started.

During the cold weather months (Oct. 1 - April 30), disconnection must not occur until at least 30 days after written notice has been mailed or 15 days after the notice has been personally delivered to the consumer.

A depository, located at the front door of the Mahnomen office, is available for bill paying after hours.

Collection Policy

Bills are mailed out on the 10th of the month, and are due by the 24th of the month.
