The Board of Directors of Wild Rice Electric Cooperative is seeking applicants for President/CEO at our headquarters in Mahnomen, Minnesota.
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ electric utility experience and 5 years’ upper-level management, preferably with a rural electric cooperative
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business or Accounting is preferred, and certain required knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to carry out the duties of the President/CEO
- Strong leadership and communications skills and ability to build positive relationships with boards, members, employees and community stakeholders
Wild Rice offers a salary range of $150,000-$240,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), defined benefit retirement plan and state/federally required benefits, including Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave.

About the Opportunity
This full-time, regular position is based at our headquarters in Mahnomen, Minnesota, where you’ll work alongside a collaborative team serving our members each day.
As the Accounting Specialist, you’ll play an integral role in supporting the cooperative’s financial operations while providing exceptional service to our members. Your work will include accounts payable, budget billing, capital credits, payment processing, account maintenance and member account support.

What You'll Do
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Managing the cooperative’s accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices.
- Administering the budget billing program and assisting members with enrollment, annual reconciliations and account questions.
- Supporting the cooperative’s capital credit program, including member accounts, estate retirements, annual allocations and distributions.
- Processing member payments and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assisting members by phone and in person with billing, payment and account inquiries.
- Supporting delinquent account administration, payment arrangements and applicable assistance programs.
- Assisting with month-end processes, year-end audit activities and other accounting functions as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting or Finance required, plus four (4) years of relevant accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of RUS accounting practices is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Wild Rice Electric Cooperative offers a competitive hiring range of $30.12-$34.57 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
