The Board of Directors of Wild Rice Electric Cooperative is seeking applicants for President/CEO at our headquarters in Mahnomen, Minnesota.
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ electric utility experience and 5 years’ upper-level management, preferably with a rural electric cooperative
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business or Accounting is preferred, and certain required knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to carry out the duties of the President/CEO
- Strong leadership and communications skills and ability to build positive relationships with boards, members, employees and community stakeholders
Wild Rice offers a salary range of $150,000-$240,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), defined benefit retirement plan and state/federally required benefits, including Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave.

Accountant

Wild Rice Electric Cooperative is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to help keep our financial records accurate, our reporting on track and our cooperative running strong. If you enjoy solving problems, working across departments and seeing how your work supports an essential service, we’d like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Maintain utility plant, construction work order, inventory and equipment records
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts and manage miscellaneous receivables
- Support financial reporting, tax filings, regulatory reporting, audits and reimbursement documentation
- Provide departmental and cooperative support by phone and in person to both coworkers and members
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, plus two years of relevant experience
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office 365 skills, analytical ability and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Rural Utilities Service (RUS) accounting practices is an asset
- Electric utility accounting experience is strongly preferred
